Kamal Al-Solaylee has distinguished himself as an associate professor, a journalist and a best-selling author. His memoir, Intolerable, was a finalist for the Hilary Weston Writers’ Trust Nonfiction Prize, the Lambda Literary Award, and Canada Reads, and it won the Toronto Book Award. His most recent book, Brown, garnered numerous honours including winner of the Shaughnessy Cohen Prize for Political Writing and Finalist for both the Governor General’s Literary Award for Non-fiction and the Trillium Book Award. Al-Solaylee lives in Toronto.
