Posted January 27, 2009Strewn Winery has agreed to be the official wine sponsor of the 2009 gritLIT festival.
An award-winning, local winery, Strewn is located in beautiful Niagara-on-the-Lake. Strewn focuses on a limited number of "noble" vinifera grape varieties that do particularly well in Niagara. Their red wines are made from Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Their whites are from Riesling, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Gewurztraminer and Pinot Blanc. In addition, for Icewine and Select Late Harvest (its companion dessert wine) they grow Vidal, a French hybrid grape that is grown more in Niagara than any other wine region in the world.
