Workshop: Building Real Worlds

For many writers, the term “world-building” conjures images of fantasy or dystopian future realms, but setting real world stories in a time and place different from our own requires just as much description, research and imagination. Author Sally Cooper leads a hands-on, interactive workshop exploring how choosing the right details and incorporating actual people and events can bring your historical settings to life. Bring writing supplies and be prepared to participate!

We cannot guarantee there will be enough power outlets available for everyone. If you bring a laptop, please make sure it is fully charged.

Due to venue restrictions, this workshop will take place in a second-floor room with no elevator access. We apologize sincerely for this inconvenience. If this makes it impossible for you to attend, please contact Jennifer at artisticdirector@gritlit.ca, and we will make alternate arrangements.
