Nino Ricci is the winner of the 2008 Governor General's Award for Fiction for The Origin of Species

Set in Montreal in the 1980s, The Origin of Species, tells the story of one man's search for love, meaning, and guilt-free sex while trying to get over the scars of an ill-fated trip to the Galapagos. The Origin of Species is "Ricci's masterstroke to date," according to the Toronto Star. "An ambitious, thrilling novel that resists encapsulation and takes not a single misstep."

Ricci is also the author of the novels Testament, Lives of the Saints, In a Glass House and Where She Has Gone.
